What other students and teachers have said
From New York: "I teach a pedagogy class as a local college in New York. Of all the materials we've examined in class, Excellence in Music is the cream of the crop."
From Oregon: "The encouragement given on the tapes gets me pumped up. It makes me want to do my best at learning and practicing."
From Florida: "Thanks for being a part of a very successful year. I do believe the tape series is such an excellent teaching tool. These tapes far surpass anything I've seen for the computer."
From Wisconsin: "I wanted to let you know how much my students have been enjoying the second volume. They all have been most eager to do each lesson ... it was worth it!"
From Alabama: "Since their arrival, I have had your tapes on almost continuously. With each tape I am more amazed and impressed by the tremendous scope of your work and the remarkable logic in the order of the presentation of the materials."
From the Philippines: "Bless you for enhancing and improving my teaching ability. I am really enjoying my work so much that it doesn't seem like work and my group of students are motivated and enthusiastic."
From England: "It has been one year since I first started my students on your tapes. I actually got them for my more talented students, but as it turned out, they have helped my students who weren't doing so well. They are learning their songs faster, playing with better rhythm, sight reading on their own, more confident in performing and enthusiastic about music lessons."
From Massachusetts: "I am really enjoying the progress of my students using your terrific tape series. Thank you for your wonderful work in this area. These tapes have taught my students more than my computer lab." [But you don't have to give up your computer lab to use this series. The computer lab can act as an excellent follow-up to the lessons taught in Excellence in Music.]
FAQ's from Teachers
I'd like to use Excellence in Music but don't have the
time to learn to use it.
It is easy to use. Just take 3 minutes to rread the introductory materials, then hand your
student a workbook and leave the rest to them. This course is entirely self directed to
achieve a near college level music education.
What if I don't have an extra room in which my students
can listen to the tapes?
No problem. When you buy one of our volumes, you can obtain a free license from us to copy
each tape for your students. They can listen at home.
How old does a student need to be?
A good time to start is the fourth or fifth grade. Younger children should begin with The
Beginning Pianist or Are You Listening?. Both are excellent courses for the young
beginner.
Do all of my students need a workbook?
Yes! The workbook is an important part of the student being able to learn from the tapes.
It also helps the student keep track of his progress.
Can I use this with any method?
Yes! You do not have to give up a thing. It works with Suzuki, Bastien, Alfred, anything.
Teachers with computers tell us that this course goes way beyond what their computers
teach. They use Excellence in Music to teach, and their computers to drill. You do not
need a computer, though. You only need a tape recorder and headphones.
