These music theory workbooks were originally created
to correspond with the Music Teachers of California Certificate of Merit
Program. However, they cover general music theory, so are
appropriate for any theory curriculum. If desired, the books
correlate exactly with PBJ Basics of Keyboard Theory
Computer Activities software for reinforcement.
- Step-by-step instruction is included with each
concept in the books.
- Extensive follow-up in written practice and
review allows transfer students to begin the theory book that
corresponds with their performance level. Review also reinforces
material for returning students.
- Application of student knowledge occurs by naming
the item in literature examples from their own repertoire level.
- Written explanation of concepts allows the
student to be able to complete the assignment at home.
- In combination with the game-like drills of PBJ
software, students learn theory even more securely and painlessly.
- Placement of students is made easy by the
"To the Teacher" at the beginning of each book, i.e.
"Level I. . .is to be used with the student who has had
approximately 1-2 years of music lessons, and knows the following. .
."
This thorough and enjoyable workbook series is the
only one to correlate directly with game-like software for reinforcement
and follow-up.
