Ear Training Expedition
This vibrantly colorful software series, now available for Windows and MacIntosh, is receiving great reviews for its unique visual approach to teaching aural skills and the basics of music theory. Ear Training Expedition is great for students of all ages, whether in classroom, private studio or home study. This 3-part study of music as a journey in musicianship keeps students on course with captivating learning adventures that are carefully sequenced. The main concepts in each Level are presented in units, beginning with a short theory lesson (Intro), followed by practice drills designed to prepare students for a Listening Skill Game where aural skills are tested. The program is self-paced, so students can go through it at their own speed, and may repeat a lesson or drill, if desired. All activities and games are scored, then recorded in a data base. Clever musical selections throughout the program represent different styles and style periods, and correlate well with the concepts being taught. Ear Training Expedition Parts 1

WHAT OTHERS SAY: A couple years ago I began entering my students in to a festival thatrequires them to be tested on their Ear Training skills, among other things. As a teacher of over 80 students, I found that I didn't have time to spend on Ear Training. When I saw the Ear Training Expedition program I decided to try having my students use it for 5-10 minutes after their lesson. When it came time for the festival I ran a practice test on them to see what we needed to work on. To my surprise i didn't need to work on anything with any of them. And for the past 3 years that I have used this program, all my students have passed their ear training tests 100%. This program has saved me so much time and the kids really enjoy using it. Ear Training is such an important part of a students musical experience but it can be difficult to fit it in to a typical half-hour lesson. Now we have something that really works. I highly recommend this program to any teacher that uses computer software as part of their teaching. . . . David Tacher, Idaho As
